Heyer reread, Faro’s Daughter – A; Regency Buck, A-; The Corinthian, A+
Jilly Cooper, Harriet, fun/guilty pleasure - B
Juno Dawson, His Majesty’s Royal Coven – started out reasonably OK in a basic YA style, but lost the plot halfway through; very simplistic and frankly unbelievable characterisations governed entirely by the author’s cause of choice, the plot was ridiculous, didactic and totally lacking in subtlety or nuance, D
Dorothy Whipple, Because Of The Lockwoods – interesting, nice period detail, but not sure if I actually liked it or not, B
Alice Bell, Grave Expectations – the author gets a lot of things wrong eg the colour of cassocks and the upper classes, but it was pretty enjoyable, B+
Tim Weaver, I Am Missing – excellent, A+
Tom Hindle, Death In The Arctic, excellent, A
Liane Moriarty, Here One Moment, silly, C+
Kate Ellis, Coffin Island, pretty good, B
Sam Blake, The Mystery of Four, solid, B
Tracy Chevalier, The Glassmaker, very well written and researched, just didn’t like the time skipping aspect, A-
Jonathan Kellerman the Ghost Orchid, very good, A-
Agatha Christie, A Murder Is Announced, excellent, A
