Jane Smiley, A Dangerous Business, short but believable and well researched and written, A-
Michael Gilbert, The Country House Burglar, very enjoyable 1950s crime, A
David Eddings reread, Demon Lord Of Karanda, B
Eleni Kyriacou, The Unspeakable Crimes of Zina Pavlou, based on a true story- I enjoyed the period feel, B+
Jim Butcher, Warriorborn – realised ¾ of the way through that I had actually read this before, but it was OK, B
Rob Rinder, The Trial – I expected arch black comedy but this was surprisingly gritty and clearly very well rooted in the author’s past legal practice, although not sure I entirely bought the final twist, A-
Alice Feeney, His And Hers, rather implausible, C
Christobel Kent, The Loving Husband, OK, B-

Joanna Nadin, The Double Life of Daisy Hemmings, quite a good read if not all that believable, B
